For more than 140 years, WT Burnett has helped define what’s next in polyurethane foam and nonwoven technologies. Our legacy is one of continuous improvement—driven by technical expertise and a relentless commitment to solving challenges.
Our original plant in Baltimore, Maryland was the location for the first continuous pouring machine for flexible polyurethane foam in the world, beginning production in 1954. Since then, we have extended our legacy of innovation in many directions, receiving our first patent in 1966, through advanced materials and smarter manufacturing processes.
WT Burnett products have delivered performance, durability, sustainability, and safety for industries ranging from aerospace and automotive to bedding and building materials.
Innovation Never Stops

Nonwoven Flame-Retardant Material (2019)
Thermoformable and compliant with stringent UL94 V-0 and ASTM E84 flammability standards.
Oxidation Discoloration-Resistant Polyurethane Foam (2013)
A flexible polyurethane foam with improved resistance to discoloration from oxidation. It’s composed of high levels of reactive and nonreactive phosphite esters that improve color stability without compromising on quality.
Lightweight Nonwoven Fire-Retardant Barrier (2008, 2010)
Prepared from low denier, charring fibers and substantially free of polymers made from halogenated monomers.
Fragrance-Emitting Polyurethane Foams (1986)
A novel integration of sensory experience and material science.
